Church Activities

Hillsdale Assembly of God is a church with a ministry philosophy. We do not believe the church is merely a place to sit and be spiritually fed, but to also be a rallying point from which we reach out to the world and show the love of Christ. The following ministries are an important, integral part of Hillsdale Assembly of God.

Our Hospitality Ministries include a Van Ministry for those who need help getting to church, a Valet Ministry, Greeters to make you feel welcome, Ushers to help you find your way around, Care Callers who check up on you by phone, and a Visitation Team that wants you to know how important your fellowship is to us. Another way we encourage fellowship and involvement is by offering breakfast at the Cafe of Heavenly Delights.

When you come to a morning service, one of the first things you will notice is our dynamic Worship Ministry, which includes a sound team, praise team, band and orchestra, powerpoint team, Special Music Team, and Kids Choir. Our worship is contemporary and God-directed.

We have many Kids Ministries at Hillsdale Assembly. We have Nursery for infants to age 2, Kids' Church for ages 3 & 4, Kids' Kingdom for ages 5 to 10, Christian Education classes for all ages, and a Family Movie Night as well.

Our outreach mentality has led us to believe in the strength of support groups to touch the hurting with Christ's love. In line with this philosophy, we currently have three support groups. The first is Grief Share, which offers support to those who have lost a loved one. We also have Divorce Care, which offers help to those who are going through the pain of divorce. Finally, Vessels of Honor is also available periodically on Wednesday nights.

Wednesday night family electives include Nursery through age 2, Rainbows for age 3 through Kindergarten, W4K for 1st through 5th grade, Fusion for Jr. & Sr. High students, and an adult Bible Study. There is something for everyone on Wednesday nights at 7 p.m.

Spiritual support is offered through small groups called Fellowship Groups. These groups are for young and old, spiritually mature and new Christians alike. They offer fellowship, prayer support, and close relationships. They are a vital part of our church and help you in your walk with Christ.

For our church ministries we have two fundraising ministries, one which helps by providing equipment for use in fundraising, and the other which plans Fundraising Dinners to earn money to meet specific needs.

We reach out to the needy in many important ways, including outreach in the Hillsdale area through Church on the Street, ministry to the police through Cookies for Cops, and touching the incarcerated through our Prison Ministry. We also have a Christmas Toy Ministry, assosiated with Toys for Tots of Hillsdale County, which provides Christmas gifts for underpriviledged children.

Our Men's Ministry holds a monthly prayer breakfast and hosts work days to help maintain the church building and grounds, as well as planning special events for the men in our church. The Women's Ministry hosts Women's Breakfast, has a secret sisters program, and decorates our church building for the holidays. For our Senior Adults, our Seniors Ministry is here to give you love and support as a vital member of the body of Christ.

Hands of Mercy, our 501(c)(3) sister charity organization, helps fund important service-based ministries in the church. Most notably, Hands of Mercy has helped secure funding for our Food Pantry and heads up our Make a Difference Day outreach.

Christian resources, including books, videos, and tapes, are available from the Church Library, which is open during service times and office hours. We are always accepting donations of new books and resources to improve materials available to the congregation.

No church would be complete without Prayer Ministries, because prayer is vital to a healthy, God-centered church. Our prayer ministries include Pastor's Prayer Partners, 24-hour Prayer Meetings, and Pre-service Prayer on Sunday mornings. We believe that prayer moves the hand of God.

Obviously, our Website Ministry reaches out through the internet with this website. We are also located on a busy highway, so we take seriously our Church Sign Ministry. We have more ministries that are not mentioned here, and new ministries begin all the time, so keep an eye on this page to see what is going on and how you can be a part.
