About Christian Education

Our Christian Education department offers classes to all ages, from age 3 to those in their senior years. It is a fun time of crafts, snacks, lessons, and games for children, and an enriching, growing experience for adults. Christian Education classes are held from 9:30 to 10:20 a.m. on Sundays before the morning meeting at 10:30 a.m.

Our Teachers & Classes

Our team of teachers truly have a heart for their calling, and we are excited to be so blessed with such a wonderful group of people. Our teachers and their classes are listed below.

Pre-school & Kindergarden Class

Age 3 thru Kindergarden

Meet Patty and Patty. These two wonderful gals teach our Pre-school and kidergarden class. Children from age 3 thru Kindergarden are welcome to join them for class!

Pee-wee Quiz

Children in 1st & 2nd Grade

Pee-wee Quiz is available as an alternative to traditional Sunday School class. In Pee-wee Quiz, children learn basic Bible knowledge and verses, then are quizzed over them using a buzzer system. Brian, Shelia, and Melissa Phillips teach the Pee-wee Quiz class.

Primary Class

Children 1st thru 3rd Grade

Debbie Zeiler used to be our Christian Education co-ordinator before she passed the torch to others. Now, in addition to offering our current directors her support, she teaches the Primary Class for children in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grades.

Junior Class

Children in 4th & 5th Grade

Kitty Roberts, who teaches the Junior Class, is also the wife of Mike Roberts, one of our deacons. Her class is for children in 4th and 5th grade.

Junior High Class

Youth in 6th thru 8th Grade

Debbie Phillips, who volunteers her time as the church book-keeper, also finds the time to teach the Junior High Class. This class is for youth in 6th, 7th, and 8th grade.

Teens & Twenties Class

Youth, College, & Career

Joe & Gwen Collins teach the Teens and Twenties class on Sunday mornings. Teenagers, college students, and young twenties are welcome to be a part of this class.

Adult Elective Class

Varying Subjects

The adult elective class is taught by Dallas and Anita Gordon. This is a topic-driven class which offers many different series of teachings at different times.

Christian Formation

Mike Roberts, one of our deacons and head of the Seniors Ministry at Hillsdale Assembly of God, teaches the Christian Formation class, a series that systematically teaches the books, history, and theology of the Bible.
