Crisis Counseling

We know that times of crisis rise up in everyone's lives. During those times, our church and pastoral staff are here to offer you the spiritual support you need. One way we do this is by offering spiritual counseling to those who need it.

Hillsdale Assembly of God offers pastoral, spiritual counseling only, not secular. We have a refferal network of other professionals who provide help beyond the scope of short-term crisis or spiritual counseling. Long term or secular counseling will be referred to a qualified professional. The following are the procedures regarding pastoral counseling:

1. Counseling sessions will be conducted on the church premises only when others are present in the building and during regular office hours.
2. Counseling provided to members of the opposite sex will be limited to three sessions of no more than 45 minutes each, at the end of which period the counselee may be referred to another counselor. Whenever possible, opposite sex counseling will be avoided.
3. Counseling sessions will only be conducted when scheduled.
4. Information shared during counseling will be considered confidential. There are two exceptions to this rule: if someone has indicated the intention to commit a criminal act or child abuse is involved, the proper authorities will be notified.

The church office hours are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The following times may be avilable for counseling sessions. Be certain to contact the church office and set up an appointment.
