How to Become a Member

At Hillsdale Assembly of God, everyone is welcome to attend our church! Saved or sinner, spiritual or spectator, everyone needs to either come to Jesus or know Him better. But becoming a member means more. It means you are saved and living a godly lifestyle. It means you are committed to our church, it's doctrine, and it's ministries. It also means that you will be able to participate in elections and business meetings. Our requirements for membership are as follows:

• You must be born again- saved by God and born of the Spirit. (John 3:3-7)
• You must be baptized in the Holy Spirit or seeking the baptism in the Holy Spirit. (Acts 2:2-4)
• Water Baptism in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit is required. (Matthew 28:19)
• You must believe that the Bible is God's Word to us and the final authority on faith and conduct. (Hebrews 4:12)
• Holiness, including abstaining from gambling, the use of pornography, and questionable forms of amusement, is expected of every member. (Romans 6:4-7)
• Members must not participate in the use of tobacco, alcohol, illegal drugs, or the misuse of legal drugs. (1 Corinthians 6:19-20)
• A belief in the imminent return of Jesus Christ is necessary for membership. (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17)
• Members must support and subscribe to the doctrines of the church. (Titus 2:1)
• To be a member, you must be willing to cooperate with the work of the church and be governed by its constitution and bylaws. (1 Corinthians 12:12-27)
• Members are expected to financially support the church through tithing. (Malachi 3:10)
