Our Worship Style & Philosophy
Our worship style in generally contemporary, but we don't approach worship as new songs versus old songs or contemporary worship versus traditional worship. As a worship leader, Pastor Kevin's philosophy of worship is as follows:
- Our worship must be Biblical. The message must line up with the Word of God.
- Our worship should be passionate. We select songs that express our love, need, and desire for God.
- Our worship must be verticle. It must be to or about God and glorify who He is.
- Our worship should be melodious. Worship is meant to move the believer, so it is important that it is pleasing to the ear.
- Our worship must be God-inspired. Ultimately, the songs we sing should be directed by the One we worship.
We worship with many different kinds of songs. Some are traditional hymns. Some are written by Pastor Kevin himself. Others are from worship artists such a Chris Tomlin, Paul Baloche, Darrel Evans, Michael Gungor, Israel Houton, David Crowder, Dennis Jernigan, Hillsong and Hillsong United, Brian Doerksen, Planetshakers, and many other worship artists and bands.
