The Purpose of Our Church
Our purpose as a church is four-fold. First, we are committed to share the good news about the forgiveness found in Jesus with the whole world. This is called evangelism. Second, we need to teach people who accept the message of Jesus all about living a life that pleases God, including finding a place for them to serve God through the activities of our church. Many Christians refer to this as discipleship. Third, we are dedicated to developing leaders who will help us reach out to the community with activities that meet needs and show Jesus's love. Fourth, as individuals and together as the church, we are called to honor God and celebrate because of who he is and all he has done for us. This is called worship. Accordingly, our mission statement for Hillsdale Asssembly of God is as follows:
Our Mission Statement
Our mission is to dispatch believers into the harvest field through evangelism, to disciple converts to Christ like maturity and incorporate them into the church, to develop leaders that will demonstrate God's love through service, so that we can devote our lives to follow God as we celebrate His presence in worship.
Why have a mission statement? Because, to be effective as a church, we must define why we are here and what we want to accomplish. Then we can develop activities and programs that fulfill these purposes. Everything our church does helps fulfill this mission statement in some way. This is what many people refer to as being a purpose-driven church.
One of the most important things you can do in this life is make sure your life is pleasing to God and prepare yourself and those you love for eternal life in heaven. We want to help you discover who God is and his purpose for you. God loves you, and we'd love to welcome you into our church family.
