About the Toy Ministry

Hillsdale Assembly of God is committed to being 'the church that cares.' One way we care for our community is through the Christmas toy ministry.Each year we give out toys in the Hillsdale County area to families in need.

We are open to distribute toys from December 12th to December 23rd, and we have toys for babies, toddlers, children, and teens. Parents can get toys for any child age 15 and under. We distribute new and used toys donated to the church. We are also Hillsdale County's Toys for Tots distributor, so we receive and distribute toys through this program as well.

What Happened in 2006

We were able to reach a total of 214 families and show them the love of Jesus Christ during the 2006 holiday season. We gave away 1,430 new toys through Toys for Tots, as well as another 1,600 new and used toys through the outreach efforts of our church. This made a total of 3,030 toys given to 520 children for Christmas this year. 6 new bikes were also given away by drawing to children who were serviced by the Toy Ministry.

What Happened in 2005

In 2005, we gave out 3,247 new and used toys, 1,265 toys through toys for tots, 7 bikes by drawing, 50 gift baskets to mothers, and stockings made by volunteers. Anyone who is financially strained and having difficulties purchasing Christmas gifts can get toys for each of their children through this ministry.

Donations Are Needed

We are always in need of donations, and we accept them year-round. Some general needs are Chrtimas & baby fabrics, toys for all ages, and monetary donations for operational costs and purchasing toys. We can also use items in the folowing categories:

Baby Items

teething rings, bottles, wash cloths, bibs, brushes, combs, receiving blankets, clothes, silverware, toys, etc.

Toddler Toys

musical toys, educational toys, stuffed animals, and other boy and girl toys.

Kids' Toys

toys, games, puzzles, dolls, art kits, stuffed animals, electronics, etc.

Teen Items

purses & wallets, CDs and CD cases, colonges & perfumes, make-up & jewelry, electronics & sports equipment, etc.
