Wednesday for Kids

Wednesday for Kids, or W4K for short, is our Wednesday evening program for children in 1st to 5th grade. We meet from 7 to 8:30 p.m. and our church van is available to pick up kids in the Hillsdale and Jonesville areas. We are comitted to giving your child an enriching and enjoyable experience.

Opening Session

We begin every W4K meeting with an opening session, where we hand out name tags, discuss the rules, welcome visitors, introduce the memory verse, and share the "Treasure of Truth" for the day. The Treasure of Truth is a simple, short sentence summary of the day's lesson that we use to focus the kids on the teaching of the day. We also give out prizes to first time visitors and the top point earners from the previous week.

Class Segments

After the opening session, the kids go through four differnt class segments. When the group is smaller, they all go together, and when the group is larger, they split up. Each segment lasts about 15 minutes. They are as follows:

Object Lesson

The Bible lesson is taught with energy and visual aids to keep things exciting.

Group Game

Our fun group games give the kids a chance to burn off some energy.

Craft Time

Our creative crafts are fun and stimulating, all while also reinforcing the day's lesson.

Snack Time

We provide a snack and drink to every child that attends W4K.

Closing Session

In the closing session, we review the memory verse, ask review questions about the lesson, and remind the kids of the day's Treasure of Truth. We collect name tags, hand out memory verse slips, and remind the kids that they can earn extra treasure points by printing and filling out the internet activity page from this website. We encourage you to send your child to W4K. They will have a great time!
